Evaton Mall’s cutting-edge solar PV solution marks a significant milestone in Fortress Real Estate Investments Limited’s journey towards achieving its decarbonisation goals.

Our 2MWp solar PV solution at Evaton Mall, the largest in Fortress’s portfolio to date. This project required overcoming multiple challenges, including structural modifications to accommodate the weight of the panels, roof preparation, and upgrades to the local Eskom infrastructure. The installation was carried out in two phases, with half of the system activated last year with the balance of the system completed in October 2024.

The system is set to generate 3,200 MWh annually, cutting CO2 emissions by more than 3,000 tons per year.
