Renewable Solutions Engineer

Our Renewable Solutions Engineer will provide technical support for our Tender team and you will explore solutions for customer requirements based on the product portfolio. You will be actively involved in all proposal phases, analysing customer requests and their technical feasibility. To be successful in this role you will need to be an avid problem solver and solution finder. The role requires daily interfacing with the engineering, supply chain and project management departments for project-specific inputs. You will have support but will be required to work and complete tasks on your own, by taking accountability and responsibility in a hybrid work environment.  You will form part of our team where we don’t just work, but also have fun on the way to achieving our mission and vision!  We also have great coffee!  

What we require:

  • B.Eng / BSc  in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 3 years experience in Electrical Engineering in an industrialised and/ or commercial environment, preferably Renewable Energy
  • Individual with some pre-sales/ sales experience will be beneficial
  • In-depth understanding of contracts and their legal compliance and terms and conditions
  • Solar PV or BESS experience a plus, but not a pre-requisite
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially MS Word &  MS Excel
  • Be able to interact and communicate effectively on all levels
  • Pleasant personality, driven individual with a “make-it-happen” work ethic
  • South African Citizenship, Clear Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License *please note that candidates will be subjected to relevant screening processes in line with the functions and risks contained within the position

What you will do:

  • Assist team members with sales support,  including development of client proposals and pitch mechanics. 
  • Delivering sales presentations to clients, including designing and development of presentations.
  • Improve negotiations and contract closing by providing support to the Sales Team.
  • Liaison with and co-ordination of clients, external professionals and consultants.
  • Clearly articulate technical capabilities of the products, attend and/or perform technical demonstrations.
  • Create quotes and sales proposals on behalf of the Sales Team.
  • Partner with the sales team to generate leads.
  • Accompany sales representatives during the entire sales process, from RFI/RFP to contract negotiation and closing.
