Junior Construction Manager

Based: Roodepoort, Gauteng

As Junior Construction Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated, dynamic people at the forefront of the renewable energy sector. You will like getting your hands dirty and come rain or shine, ensure projects are executed efficiently from start to finish. Working closely with your team to ensure deadlines are met and milestones achieved will leave a pleasant smile on your, sometimes dusty, face. Construction schedule, project manager, planned, budget, sub-contractor schedules, cashflow, timelines, quality, health and safety are words so intwined in you, that it is what you mutter when you sleep at night! We will trust you to function and have a high level of responsibility and accountability in a hybrid work environment. All this whilst enjoying some good coffee in the office where we don’t just work hard, but play hard whenever we can!

What you must have to apply:

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management or equivalent, preferred
• Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Site management experience with solar PV site experience will be beneficial
• Proficiency in Microsoft, with emphasis on Word and Excel
• Pleasant personality, driven individual with a “make-it-happen” work ethic
• South African Citizenship, Clear Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License *please note that candidates will be subjected to relevant screening processes in line with the functions and risks contained within the position

Some of what you will be doing:

• Ensure all work is carried out with extreme quality, safety and according to company standard.
• The appointed Solareff site representative
• Ensure your construction schedule is followed and you work very closely with the project manager to ensure work goes as planned and within budget and time frame
• Sub-contractor schedules, cashflow and timelines
• On site client liaison
• Solareff installer liaison
• Ensuring ongoing quality on site
• Stock management
• Ensure good housekeeping at all times
• Ensuring installer is meeting time constraints and design requirements as expected by the design team
• Liaison with the rest of the project team to ensure smooth transition of office decision to site execution
