Electrical Engineer
Based: Roodepoort, Gauteng

Our Electrical Engineer will be in charge of planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to ensure our projects are completed according to schedule and required standard. Not one day will be the same, but this should be nothing new in the exciting life of an engineer. Our Engineer will thrive on a diverse scope of projects and industries and be able to juggle a lot of balls in the air at any given time (and be able to quantify the formula for that!) because that is how our Engineers roll. We trust you to complete tasks on your own in a hybrid work environment, with high level of accountability and responsibility. Our Electrical Engineer will form part of our team where we don’t just work, but play and have fun whenever we can.
Qualification & Experience Required:
- BEng / BSc (Eng) / BTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Instrumentation & automation experience would be an added plus
- Experience in design and implementation
- Experience with Solar PV within the Commercial and Industrial Sector
- Proficient in Helioscope, PVsyst, MS Office & MS Project and AutoCAD (or similar)
- PV Greencard
- Proficiency in Microsoft, with emphasis on Word and Excel
- Pleasant personality, driven individual with a “make-it-happen” work ethic
- South African Citizenship, Clear Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License *please note that candidates will be subjected to relevant screening processes in line with the functions and risks contained within the position
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Feasibility studies of “Blue-Sky projects”: reviewing all broad engineering, maintenance issues, sustainability and commercial viability of future potential projects
- Develop grid and hybrid Solar PV solutions for proposals, tenders and projects
- Establish provisional costings for engineering aspects of projects
- Confirm detailed Scope of Work / Bill of Quantities
- PV Plant design, engineering and commissioning
- Quality assurance of Projects
- High-level and Detailed drawings & designs
- Fault-finding and Analytics with the ability to provide solutions and results
- Ensure overall cost-effectiveness of project
- Conducting grid impact studies, analyze the results and write a technical report focusing on the required NRS outcomes
